Billing on a phone: nothing to install, the same StoreDesk in the browser

StoreDesk is free for as long as you use it: unlimited bills, GST invoices, stock and khata on the Free plan, which never expires and shows the last 30 days of history on screen.

StoreDesk is a web app. On a phone it is the same page you use on a computer, in the browser — there is no separate mobile app to download, and you do not need one.

Open it and sign in

Open storedesk.in in Chrome or Safari and sign in. There is nothing to download from the Play Store or the App Store, and nothing to update — every phone, tablet and computer of your shop opens the same StoreDesk.

If you want an icon, add it to your home screen: in Chrome, open the menu and choose Add to Home screen or Install; in Safari, tap Share and then Add to Home Screen. It then opens in its own window, like an app. It is the same web app, and it needs the internet exactly as the browser tab does.

What a phone does well

  • Ring up a known item at the counter — measured at one tap on a phone.
  • Take an udhar payment, and see who owes you how much.
  • Send a bill to the customer on WhatsApp, from the phone the customer is standing in front of.
  • Check today’s sales and the day close from anywhere.

The screens are checked at phone widths, down to 360 pixels wide. The product was designed for a counter screen, though, and a computer or a tablet at the counter is still the most comfortable way to bill all day.

When the internet drops

StoreDesk does not bill offline: a bill gets its number from our server, so making one needs the internet. What is safe is the sale you are typing — if the connection drops, the lines stay on the screen and survive a reload, and the sale is sent the moment the internet is back, without being saved twice.

Printing from a phone

On an Android phone, Chrome can reach a Bluetooth receipt printer directly, and the free RawBT app reaches the ones Chrome cannot see. Any phone can share the bill as a PDF, or send its link on WhatsApp.

On an iPhone or iPad, Safari has no USB, Bluetooth or COM-port printing. A receipt printer with an iPad has not been tested; the A4 or A5 PDF and the WhatsApp link work. The printers page has the details.

The phone’s camera is not used as a barcode scanner.

Free and Pro

Free never expires and never limits your bills. Pro is ₹199 a month or ₹1,999 a year, and adds your full history, reports and profit, udhar reminders and a staff login.

Try Pro free for 30 days from inside the app — no card and nothing charged. It ends on its own and your shop goes back to Free, with nothing deleted.
